ABOUT US
Webster Electric was founded in 1999 by Steve Webster, Chief Executive Officer.
In 1973 he started in the electrical trade as an apprentice electrician working for his Grandfather and soon after dreamed of starting his own company that was known for high quality electrical work at a fair competitive prices.
The goal has always been to be known first for the quality of our work but also for a tradition of excellence that begins at the top and is expected from all of our project managers, accountants, estimators, logistics support staff and every electrician or apprentice who is employed here.
Since the business opened in March of 2000, we have grown steadily and our customers include some of the largest entities in the State of Mississippi and Alabama. We are the largest airport lighting contractor in the State of Mississippi and we have completed several Intelligent Transportation Systems (I.T.S.) and more Weigh in Motion Truck Scales and static truck weighing systems than any other electrical contractor in the State.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and since then Webster Electric has focused much of its efforts in the Gulf Coast area as you will see from the many photos of renovated roads in communities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is a great source of pride to see the once mighty coastal area, devastated by Hurricane Katrina come back to life more beautiful and vibrant than before.
From automotive factory upgrades like Tower Automotive to the Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Statewide Scales Upgrade, we can handle your project needs. Mississippi State University (MSU) and the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) have contracted with us for signature project like the USM Accelerator Laboratory Project and The Village housing projects. MSU’s Riley Center for the Performing Arts in Meridian, MS and Templeton Athletic Center at the Starkville Campus, are key in attracting industry, students and revenue to their respective Universities.
From international airports to interstate highway lighting construction, hospitals to manufacturing facilities, we can and have done it all. Webster Electric is excited about the prospects for the future but one underlying principal will never change, Quality over Quantity and doing the right thing for our customers and employees will make our company invaluable. As long as we are meeting that goal, we will continue to be successful and an important part of the State contracting base.
